    Chapter Index

“When you’re growing up, you need to eat and sleep a lot.”

Tae Seong-je laughed as if he had just said something funny and kissed my cheek. Despite hearing nonsense, I didn’t have the energy to react strongly, so I raised my head while lying sprawled out.

    “I’m all grown up…”

“How come you’re still so small when you’ve already grown up? Get more sleep.”

“Hyung, carry me and let’s go to the eye doctor…”

Whether I complained or not, he pressed his lips against mine and then lay down again. His careful attitude made me feel loved, and my mouth couldn’t help but twitch with a smile. For a moment, my shirt went up, and his fingers started moving up my back. The touch of his fingers caressing my skin felt unexpectedly sensual, and my heart fluttered. But in front of the heat, someone else’s body temperature was too hot, and above all, it was bothersome.

“I can’t do it. It’s so hot. Please lie down a little further away.”

Indeed, love is love, and the heat is heat. Frustrated, I found myself unconsciously moving away from him. Thinking that the floor would be cool, I lay down at the end of the bed with one leg down. At the same time, his hand grabbed my waist and pulled me into the bed all at once.

“You’ll fall if you keep doing that.”

“As long as you don’t startle me, I won’t fall.”

    “…”

There was no response as if lost for words by the painful joke. Did I act too childish about what happened before? Both of us, even though it was hot, it seemed like I was annoying someone who was just quietly there. I felt sorry for that. But suddenly, he got up and walked into the bathroom.

It couldn’t be possible, but my heart pounded because I thought he was upset and wanted to leave. I was so nervous that I felt like the hair on my entire body stood up like a cat. I got up from lying down, feeling tense, but soon the sound of cool water was heard. What is it? Did he suddenly want to take a shower? Was he hot too? Maybe he’s washing because he wants to leave?

As I stood in front of the bathroom, various thoughts ran through my mind. I was fidgeting, wondering if I had been too arrogant, but he came out from the bathroom after a cold water bath and hugged me.

    Oh. It’s refreshing…

    “This is okay, right?”

I nodded slowly, wrapping my arms around his hard, bare torso. I had told him to go away because I was hot, did he come back after showering with cold water? I buried my face into his chest as my face blushed. It feels so good.

My heart was pounding as if I had fallen in love once again. Tae Seong-je stroked the back of my head. Maybe it was because his body temperature had come down, but there was no discomfort even when he hugged me.  Still, the not yet dried moisture made my body feel damp.

Regardless, Tae Seong-je took me and lay back on the bed. For a moment, my temperature rose. This was because I felt a hot and certain presence from the only part of his body that was touching me right now. I couldn’t pretend that nothing was wrong.

I wiggled my toes and with my legs stuck together, I felt even more strongly his solid presence. Was this a signal? Or… Is he not going to do it today either? He never does it when it’s hot and I complain. I anxiously glance at his face, feeling uneasy.

    “But, hyung.”

    “Why. I’m still cold.”

    “Oh, yes. It’s cool.”

He comforted me with his thick arms around my waist and narrowed his eyes. No, I didn’t mean to ask that. … However, it was a bit weird to ask someone who seemed tired why he didn’t have sex with me anymore. Even if he was busy, I was nervous because it was the first time we hadn’t done anything in such a long time. After hesitating for a while, I eventually changed the subject to a safer topic.

“I know you said you had to leave early. Can we have breakfast before you leave?”

“Hmm… What time is it now?”

    “It’s half-past nine.”

“It’s vague. Well, should we have breakfast?”

    “…Isn’t it an important appointment?”

“People need a bit of excitement to make it enjoyable.”

What kind of nonsense is that? I didn’t know what it meant, but judging by the way he casually spoke, it seemed like he wanted to pick on the person he was making an appointment with. When I turned around and faced him, he smiled softly. My eyes brightened and I smiled along. Then Tae Seong-je pursd his mouth and patted my cheek.

“I’m worried because that smile is too forced.”

“That’s the first time I’ve heard that since I was born.”

As a sign not to talk nonsense, I smiled slightly and subtly moved my waist back. Oh, I can still feel it. I changed my position because my lower body kept rubbing against it, but it seemed to make it more stimulating. Or perhaps I became more sensitive as a result of my awareness. Now, every sound seemed to be clear, making me even more nervous.

The sound of our skin touching, which I normally couldn’t hear, the noise outside, which was loud in comparison to the quiet room, and the sound of springs squeaking due to strong pressure were especially loud. Even the sounds that passed when moving somehow sounded inappropriate, making my ears turn red. But why did I feel excited alone? Could it be because this person seems to have no thoughts about it?

“Eat well. Your wrist has nothing but bones.”

…Isn’t the wrist mostly just bones? I was about to say something but closed my mouth after looking at his thick wrist. Is that wrist thick because of bones, or is it all muscles?

We had a meal together, stood side by side in front of the bathroom mirror, and brushed our teeth together. Now that I think about it, it seemed natural that everything was prepared in pairs in this house as if having two of everything was a matter of course. Especially small, mundane things like pajamas and underwear.

It felt almost like living together. Now that I think about it, he did talk about living together. ……Surely I didn’t say yes, right?

It’s not a big deal, but living in this villa with a security guard who has turned white-haired looked risky and a bit worrisome. After washing up, I sat on the edge of the bed to rest, and he came over with a water bottle and a medicine pouch. I swallowed without saying anything.

“Did you draw this? It’s been here since forever.”

Tae Seong-je asked, reaching for the head of the bed. It seemed like he was trying to change the subject, but I couldn’t say anything and just nodded. It was a flower drawing that his subordinate once gave me with porridge. Even if it had been drawn by someone else, the person who sent it was special, so I kept it next to my bed and looked at it from time to time while thinking about him.

“I thought you were just good at studying, but you’re good at drawing too.”

“I didn’t draw it; someone else did.”

I couldn’t say his subordinate drew it, so I gave a vague answer, but at the same time, the thin piece of paper was mercilessly torn apart. My chest, which had been pounding nonstop, felt as if it had been ripped apart along with the torn paper.

“Tell me sooner. I thought it was pretty for no reason.”

“No… Why did you tear it? I received it, you know? What’s wrong, hyung, stop tearing it!”

It wasn’t about who drew it, but who sent it that mattered. Why did you tear it? The paper was torn into irreparable pieces. I sighed involuntarily. Feeling regretful, I thought I should tape it back later.

As I tried to gather every piece, this person casually swept away the paper graveyard, letting it fall under the bed.

    “Oh, hyung, seriously. Just…”

    “What.”

“Who tears a gift someone else received like this?”

“Why does it matter if someone else got it.”

I glanced at him once and bent my waist under the bed. There’s no point in nagging; my mouth will only hurt. While picking up the scattered pieces of paper, Tae Seong-je grumbled.

“Why don’t I just draw something like that for you? Bring a pen and paper.”

“Hyung, you know how to draw?”

    “This isn’t for decoration.”

In his dismissive gesture, I felt a bit of trust. Right. You have no conscience, let alone hands.

    “Wait a moment.”

Although the person who sends the gift is the most important, who drew it is also important. It was strange to hear such words from his mouth. I hurriedly put aside the scraps of paper I had gathered in one hand and stood up.

    “Here you are.”

I handed him a small notebook and a pen I usually carry with me. Tae Seong-je took it as if it were natural and asked.

    “A flower will do, right?”

After casually holding the pen as if it were nothing, he drew lines without hesitation. There was no need to draw the same flower… but since there were no specific requirements, I just sat quietly next to him and admired his drawing skills.

“Stop looking at me and look at the picture. I drew it all.”

    “I’m not looking.”

“I can see what you’re looking at.”

I only glanced at him a little bit, but was it noticeable? Feeling awkward, I shifted my gaze towards the notebook and was amazed.

“It seems like you don’t have talent in drawing, hyung.”

“Why. This is a good drawing.”

“No, you acted so confidently that I thought you might be like Picasso.”

“Doesn’t it look like a Picasso piece when you look at it like this?”

“If you keep saying that, you might get slapped by Picasso.”

Without yielding to the light mockery, he continued to draw even the shadows, completing it with determination. My lips kept curling as I watched the sloppiness of the man who seemed to be perfect in everything. I chuckled and muttered to myself as I rested my cheek on his shoulder.

    “You really can’t draw.”

    “This is average.”

“The average shouldn’t be this low…”

    “This is hurting my feelings.”

Saying such words with a face that hasn’t been hurt at all just makes it more amusing. Still, the more I looked, the more adorable the drawing became. Whether it was the refreshing lines that seemed to express his confidence, unexpectedly excellent details, or the willingness to draw for me.

    “Draw a portrait for me.”

“You said I can’t draw, why ask me to draw something.”

Tae Seong-je rejected my request with a nonchalant attitude as I smiled at the flower drawing and made the request. Given his grumpiness, it seemed unlikely that he would easily agree to draw it. Nonetheless, I needed to find a way to persuade him to do it by currying favor.
