MWMM Chapter 62: Pleading for Another Man
by justmisty“Mr. Shen, was it you who had Pan Feng expelled?”
Shen Ci took several seconds to fully grasp what his omega was asking.
Yan Yuzhou was questioning him—demanding to know what right he had to get rid of that brat surnamed Pan.
A trace of displeasure flashed through Shen Ci’s heart, but he suppressed his emotions and tried to appear as gentle as possible. He reached out, lightly stroking Yan Yuzhou’s smooth, delicate cheek, coaxing him indulgently, “Zhouzhou, let’s go home first. We’re not talking about this today.”
Yan Yuzhou was naturally impatient and stubborn. The moment he heard Shen Ci say that, he was convinced it was just a diversion tactic to stall for time. Breaking free from Shen Ci’s embrace, he took a step back, his expression serious and determined.
“Mr. Shen, was it you?”
With that single sentence, the temperature inside the car plummeted.
Shen Ci remained silent for two seconds, then narrowed his eyes slightly and reached out, gripping Yan Yuzhou’s chin as he slowly leaned in.
“Zhouzhou, are you asking why I had the school expel Pan Feng? Or are you questioning me—why I made him disappear from your world?”
Yan Yuzhou was momentarily thrown off by the question. His mind reeled for a second before he blinked twice and retorted coldly, “Is there a difference? Pan Feng and I were both victims. He shouldn’t be treated unfairly like this.”
“Victim? Unfair treatment?” Shen Ci’s voice grew heavier, thick with ridicule. “You, a naïve little omega, are seeking justice for your alpha classmate? What’s wrong? Now that he’s gone, are you feeling distressed? Unwilling to let him go?”
Being scolded for no reason made Yan Yuzhou’s usual good temper evaporate. His voice carried an unmistakable irritation as he snapped back, “That’s right! I feel absolutely terrible that he’s gone! Pan Feng saved my life, and I haven’t even had the chance to repay him. And yet, you had the school expel him just like that! How could you be so unprincipled and ruthless, punishing someone without even considering right from wrong?”
Silence filled the car for a long moment.
Shen Ci simply stared at him, his gaze gradually icing over.
“Repay him?” His voice was low, like ice cracking under immense pressure. “If he hadn’t left, how exactly were you planning to repay him?”
Then, through gritted teeth, he ground out his next words. “Hm? Were you planning… to offer your body to him as well?”
Yan Yuzhou felt his integrity being blatantly insulted again, and a surge of anger shot up from within him. His voice flared in frustration as he defended himself, “What nonsense are you talking about? There’s nothing between me and Pan Feng!”
“Nothing?” Shen Ci repeated the word, then let out a cold, mirthless laugh. He fixed his gaze on Yan Yuzhou and spoke slowly, each word piercingly sharp.
“Then have you ever thought about why Wen Er framed you?”
“Tell me, why did Wen Er claim in his statement that when Pan Feng was in bed with him—he was calling out your name?”
“Yan Yuzhou, don’t play dumb with me. Don’t put on that innocent act and tell me you know nothing.”
“What?”
Yan Yuzhou was shocked by Shen Ci’s words, momentarily frozen in place. It took him a long time to find his voice.
“What exactly are you talking about? Pan Feng, how could he—? We’re just ordinary friends. There’s nothing between us like what you’re thinking…”
“Enough.”
Shen Ci raised a hand to cut him off, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Today is a special day. I don’t want to talk about him with you. This matter ends here. Let’s go home first—we’ll discuss the rest later.”
When he spoke, it was clear that Shen Ci was exerting every ounce of patience, forcefully restraining his unpleasant emotions.
But Yan Yuzhou’s mind was in complete turmoil. He couldn’t even process Shen Ci’s words, instead falling deep into his own confusion.
All along, he had only ever thought of Pan Feng as a warm-hearted, helpful classmate. He had never once considered that—maybe—Pan Feng actually liked him.
For a moment, his chest felt heavy.
He hated being liked by someone he didn’t like back. That kind of feeling was too burdensome, too exhausting.
Even so, he still lifted his head and muttered sullenly, “Mr. Shen, I want to ask you… to let Pan Feng come back. No matter how much power you have, you shouldn’t treat an innocent person like this. I can promise not to have any contact with him, but please, just let him go—”
“Mmph!”
Before he could finish his sentence, his lips were suddenly seized in a fierce kiss, swallowing the rest of his words.
Shen Ci’s lips crushed against his, taking his breath away, brimming with unrestrained fury.
It wasn’t until Yan Yuzhou himself started to feel overheated from the kiss that Shen Ci finally released him.
Still panting slightly, Yan Yuzhou steadied himself and looked up—only to meet a pair of eyes burning with rage.
“Yan Yuzhou, are you pleading on behalf of your admirer?”
Shen Ci’s voice was cold, his expression dark.
“Are you planning to argue with me over this until I give in?”
His face was stormy, his tone even icier.
Yan Yuzhou held his ground, locking eyes with him, unwavering. “I don’t want to argue with you—I’m just standing by my principles.”
Shen Ci stared at those fearless eyes.
Watched as Yan Yuzhou stood against him—for another man.
His heart felt as if it had been doused in ice water, a chilling coldness spreading through his entire being.
“For the sake of your so-called bullshit ‘principles,’ are you planning to keep fighting me like this forever?”
Shen Ci’s voice was low, dangerous.
“If I refuse to compromise, what will you do? Give me the silent treatment? Live separately? Or… get a divorce?”
His entire aura shifted. His eyes were frozen over with ice, his usual pinewood scent completely withdrawn—leaving nothing but a piercing chill.
Yan Yuzhou met his emotionless gaze and, without realizing it, shivered.
The word “divorce” in Shen Ci’s sentence pierced through Yan Yuzhou like a blade.
It was only because Shen Ci had pampered him so much recently that he had forgotten his original place.
Originally, he was nothing more than one party in a contractual agreement.
Their prenuptial agreement had made everything crystal clear—three strict rules: no sharing a room, no marking, and when the time was up, a clean divorce.
And yet, he had failed to uphold even a single one.
It was his own foolishness that made him believe he held some kind of special place in Shen Ci’s heart.
His eyes reddened. Trembling, Yan Yuzhou shouted at the man before him, “If you’re so dead set on divorcing me, then there’s no need for all these roundabout words! Just give me the divorce papers, and I’ll sign them right away! What’s so great about being your omega anyway? Always being frozen to the bone, constantly enduring your baseless accusations—might as well end this right here! We’ll go our separate ways and find our own happiness!”
He blurted out all his grievances in one breath, not even thinking about how cruel his words might sound.
It wasn’t until he saw the flicker of pain and brokenness flash across Shen Ci’s eyes that he finally realized—
He had just said something utterly heartless.
A wave of regret surged through him. He glanced at Shen Ci awkwardly, his chest tightening with an unfamiliar sourness.
Under his gaze, Shen Ci’s face gradually turned from ashen to pale. His throat moved as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, he only let out a bitter chuckle.
His voice was completely hoarse.
“Heh. Being with me… has made you suffer this much?”
“So this… is how you truly feel.”
After speaking, Shen Ci waited in silence as Xiao Wang, the driver, kept his eyes forward, steadily driving them into the villa.
The moment the car stopped, Shen Ci pushed the door open and stepped out first, striding away without looking back.
Yan Yuzhou remained seated in the car, watching Shen Ci’s retreating figure disappear into the villa without even a backward glance.
His lips trembled as he bit down on them, his eyes growing redder.
For the first time, a realization struck him—
He had hurt Shen Ci.
A quiet moment passed before Xiao Wang, the driver, suddenly spoke from the front seat.
“Madam, you’ve misunderstood Sir.”
