Chapter Index

Yan Yuzhou was held in Shen Ci’s arms the entire night. Initially, he had been on high alert, but somehow, he had ended up snuggling into Shen Ci’s embrace and falling asleep.

When he woke up, he was mortified to find that his little head was resting on Shen Ci’s arm, his entire body nestled against Shen Ci’s chest, and—most shamefully—one of his legs was draped over Shen Ci’s waist in an extremely clingy position.

Completely embarrassed, he carefully and quietly wriggled out of Shen Ci’s arms.

After blushing his way through breakfast face-to-face with Shen Ci, he got into the back seat of the Rolls-Royce under Shen Ci’s vaguely suggestive gaze. The entire ride, he kept his distance, as if Shen Ci were a feral beast, afraid that the man might suddenly pounce on him for a heated kiss or some other shameless act.

Shen Ci found it amusing how wary this little omega was, but at the same time, he sighed inwardly. ‘Am I really that scary? I’ve frightened my omega this much?’

The driver, Xiao Wang, first drove to the main entrance of Wenjing Academy of Arts. As soon as the car came to a complete stop, Yan Yuzhou immediately reached for the door handle, eager to hop out.

However, just as his fingers touched the handle, a force suddenly pulled him backward. As expected, he tumbled straight into that familiar pine-scented embrace.

His little heart started pounding wildly. Stammering, he asked, “Sh-Shen… Mr. Shen, is there something you need?”

Shen Ci leaned in close and exhaled lightly against his ear before chuckling softly. “See you later.”

    With that, he let go.

Freed from his grasp, Yan Yuzhou relaxed slightly, hastily muttered a “Mm,” then bolted out of the car like his life depended on it.

As he ran, he secretly rejoiced. ‘Good thing Shen Ci didn’t bring up that ‘complete marking’ nonsense just now—my little chrysanthemum, I must protect it for as long as I can!’

But then, a thought struck him.

Right before he got out of the car, Shen Ci had whispered something in his ear…

    “See you later”???

‘What does that even mean?! I don’t want to see him later! My chrysanthemum is at stake!’

Yan Yuzhou only understood what Shen Ci meant after he entered his classroom.

A few classmates were gathered together, excitedly discussing something. Their faces were filled with enthusiasm.

As soon as they saw Yan Yuzhou walk in, they eagerly pulled him into their conversation.

“Zhouzhou, did you hear? We have a chance to go to your Mr. Shen’s company for a photoshoot!” one of them said excitedly.

“What?” Yan Yuzhou’s heart skipped a beat. He immediately pressed for details.

“Chi Yu Entertainment is collaborating with our school! They’re selecting twenty students from our department to shoot promotional photos for their new batch of trainee models. Even though there’s no guarantee that our work will be used in the final selection, this is still a great opportunity for us to gain real-world experience!”

That classmate was so excited they could hardly contain themselves, and the other students around them shared the same reaction.

As soon as Yan Yuzhou heard this, his little face fell.

‘Going to Chi Yu Entertainment… doesn’t that mean I’ll have to see Shen Ci again?’

He had just barely escaped from that scoundrel’s clutches, and now he was heading straight into his territory? Wasn’t this like walking right into a wolf’s den?

No wonder that scoundrel Shen had told him, “See you later.” Looking at it now, this was all premeditated!

Suppressing the frustration bubbling in his chest, he quickly asked, “C-Can I not sign up?”

The classmate beside him playfully smacked his arm.

“What are you talking about, Zhouzhou? This is such a great opportunity—everyone’s fighting for a spot. Who would willingly give it up? Besides, you don’t even need to sign up! With your relationship with Mr. Shen, do you think the school would dare not select you? Signing up is for us—you have nothing to worry about.”

Hearing this, Yan Yuzhou’s heart sank even further.

Sure enough, not long after, an official notice from the academy was released. As expected, Yan Yuzhou’s name was on the list.

There were a total of twenty slots, and everyone was required to report to Chi Yu Entertainment at 9 a.m.

After gathering at school, the group of twenty students, accompanied by two photography professors, boarded the school’s bus and headed to the Shenhai Building—Chi Yu Entertainment’s headquarters.

The receptionist assigned to greet them led them to several pre-arranged studios. Each studio was fully equipped with top-tier photography gear.

As soon as the twenty students stepped inside and saw the high-end equipment and studio setup, they were so excited that they had to cover their mouths to contain their gasps.

Yan Yuzhou glanced around at the staff inside the studio. Not seeing any trace of Shen Ci, he immediately felt a wave of relief wash over him.

Relaxing, he started chatting and laughing with his classmates as they waited for the models to arrive.

When the first model walked in from outside, Yan Yuzhou’s face instantly lit up with joy.

It was Xiao Mu, appearing as energetic and striking as ever.

Ever since Xiao Mu had moved out of their dorm, this was their first time seeing each other again. Overcome with excitement, the two hugged tightly for a long time before finally separating to prepare for their respective tasks.

Xiao Mu was pulled away by the makeup artists for styling, while Yan Yuzhou focused on adjusting the camera settings.

Once he finished tweaking the parameters, he lifted his head—just in time to see Xiao Mu, now fully styled and dressed, stepping onto the set.

That effortless, natural-born aura of a king made Yan Yuzhou genuinely marvel.

He had never seen a face more suited for stardom than this one.

To say that Xiao Mu was born to be in front of the camera wouldn’t be an exaggeration in the slightest.

Yan Yuzhou smiled as he looked through the camera lens. When Xiao Mu struck a seemingly unintentional pose, he quickly pressed the shutter, capturing the scene.

It was precisely this kind of seemingly casual posture that was the most captivating.

One posed, the other captured. After Xiao Mu changed through several outfits, Yan Yuzhou had already taken a full batch of shots. Flipping through them from start to finish, he found quite a few that turned out well.

Xiao Mu leaned over to look with him, and the two of them chirped excitedly as they admired the photos together. After a while, they grinned and wrapped up the shoot.

However, even through Xiao Mu’s stunning appearance, Yan Yuzhou could still detect a trace of forced cheerfulness. No matter how flawless the makeup, it couldn’t conceal the sadness in his heart.

Just before Xiao Mu left after the shoot, Yan Yuzhou glanced at the dark circles under his eyes. He hesitated for a long time before finally blurting out, “Xiao Mu, if Han Yun bullies you, you have to tell me. I’ll help you get back at him.”

A hint of gloom flashed across Xiao Mu’s face, but he quickly adjusted his expression and smiled brightly. “It’s nothing. Once my contract ends, I’ll resign.”

Yan Yuzhou looked at his forced smile with concern. Feeling sorry for him, he gave him a hug.

Worried that Xiao Mu had other plans and was short on time, Yan Yuzhou simply bid him farewell and watched him leave.

At the same time, the other classmates had gradually finished their shoots. Seeing that it was almost lunchtime, the instructors and staff began organizing everyone to head out for a meal together.

Yan Yuzhou rubbed his empty stomach and followed behind the group.

Suddenly, his classmates in front turned around one after another, looking at him with strange expressions.

    He was confused. “What’s wrong?”

One of them asked, “Zhouzhou, why are you following us?”

Yan Yuzhou was momentarily stunned. “For lunch…?”

That classmate clicked their tongue and said, “Tsk tsk tsk. Shouldn’t you be off having a romantic meal with your Mr. Shen? What are you doing following us for cafeteria food?”

After speaking, they patted Yan Yuzhou’s shoulder with an envious expression. “Are you afraid we’ll say you’re getting special treatment, so you’re deliberately keeping your distance? We get it. But you’re already on your husband’s turf—this kind of ‘special treatment’ is totally acceptable. Go on, go on, I bet Mr. Shen is already waiting impatiently!”

Then, under the ambiguous gazes of the instructors and students, Yan Yuzhou was pushed into the elevator. One of his classmates even helpfully pressed the up button before giving him a generous and understanding wave.

    “Zhouzhou, enjoy your meal~”

The moment the elevator doors closed, Yan Yuzhou’s fake smile collapsed. His heart wailed in despair.

‘Why is the whole world shoving me into Shen Ci’s arms—oh no, into a pit of fire?!’

At the same time, inside the President’s Office at Chi Yu Entertainment, Shen Ci’s assistant, Liang Xin, was helping the hired chef set up a spread of lavish dishes on the office tea table.

After finishing, he turned to Shen Ci and reported, “President Shen, latest update—Madam has entered the elevator heading to your office.”

Shen Ci’s lips curved into a satisfied smile. He responded with a pleased “Mm,” then instructed, “There’s nothing important this afternoon—make sure no one disturbs us.”
