MWMM Chapter 90: He Earns the Money, You Spend It

Almost immediately, Yan Yuzhou felt his whole body enveloped in a warm, comforting sensation, as if bathed in sunlight. Cozy and content, he instinctively snuggled deeper into Shen Ci’s embrace. After a moment of clarity, he realized that the warmth was emanating from Shen Ci’s body.
Rubbing his nose against Shen Ci’s chest, he curiously poked his head out and murmured, “Hubby, you’re so warm~”
Looking at the dazed little figure in his arms with a loving expression, Shen Ci leaned closer to his ear. “Baby, take a look at this.”
With that, he lightly pressed a test report against Yan Yuzhou’s face.
The coolness of the paper made Yan Yuzhou more awake. Obediently lifting his head, he read the content of the report. A few seconds later, after a moment of stunned silence, he was fully awake.
“H-Hubby, the conclusion on this report…” Holding the paper in one hand and tugging on Shen Ci’s sleeve with the other, his voice trembled with excitement. “Our compatibility rate is… one hundred percent?”
Shen Ci placed a tender kiss on his forehead and gave him a reassuring answer, “Baby, you didn’t read it wrong.”
Overwhelmed with emotion, Yan Yuzhou’s eyes welled up with tears, and he cried in Shen Ci’s arms for quite a while, taking the opportunity to complain about how Shen Ci had smacked his butt the previous day. After crying his fill, he finally lay limply on Shen Ci’s shoulder, giggling softly while sweetly calling him “hubby.”
Shen Ci knew that his little rose had been feeling wronged for a while, and his heart ached for him. So, he let him vent unreasonably, patiently comforting him with a soft voice. Eventually, the thorny rose bloomed once again, laughing lightly and cheerfully in his embrace.
That night, Shen Ci brought Yan Yuzhou back home. Noticing Yan Yuzhou’s slightly red and swollen eyes, Su Xintang immediately came over and blinked curiously. “Sister-in-law, why are you crying like this? Did my brother bully you?”
Yan Yuzhou was too embarrassed to admit that he had burst into tears at the hospital after discovering that his and Shen Ci’s pheromone compatibility was one hundred percent. So, under Su Xintang’s concerned gaze, he hesitantly nodded.
The corner of Shen Ci’s mouth twitched. He had spent the entire afternoon coaxing his prickly little rose, only to have him turn around and poke him again.
But when it came to his wife, what else could he do but indulge him?
So, he chose to remain silent.
Su Xintang, who despised evil like a sworn enemy, immediately felt displeased. Seeing Shen Ci acting like a silent, guilt-free villain after bullying someone, her sense of justice flared up. Driven by sympathy for Yan Yuzhou, she angrily stood in front of him, blocking Shen Ci.
“Brother, just because you’re an Alpha doesn’t mean you can bully your wife however you like!” she snapped.
Seeing Shen Ci’s speechless expression, Su Xintang snorted before turning to take Yan Yuzhou’s hand with concern. “Sister-in-law, let’s sleep together tonight. Ignore that violent maniac.”
As she spoke, she began pulling Yan Yuzhou toward the guest room.
Shen Ci watched Su Xintang’s overly dramatic actions with a helpless expression, his face filled with grievance as he watched his wife being led away by someone else. Yan Yuzhou guiltily turned around, stuck out his tongue at Shen Ci, and gave a comforting smile before happily following Su Xintang into the room.
Left alone in the living room, Shen Ci gritted his teeth in frustration.
Later that night, when Yan Yuzhou returned to their bedroom, he approached the still-angry Shen Ci with a fawning expression and sweetly coaxed, “Still mad at me?”
With a huff, Shen Ci pulled his little rose into his arms and bit down on his gland as punishment. After a round of “discipline,” he still wasn’t quite satisfied and muttered, “Tomorrow, that brat is moving out!”
The next day, as if on cue, Su Xintang received a phone call from her family overseas, informing her of an urgent matter and telling her to return as soon as possible.
Before leaving, Su Xintang held Yan Yuzhou’s hand with reluctance, shooting a resentful glare at Shen Ci, who was standing nearby with a cold expression. “Sister-in-law, when I find a bigger Alpha, I definitely won’t forget to introduce him to you!”
Shen Ci (sarcastically): … Wow, such generosity. Really, no thanks.
In the days that followed, Shen Ci helped Yan Yuzhou resume his studies. To make up for the courses he had missed, Shen Ci arranged for a private tutor to help him catch up. Once he was back on track, Yan Yuzhou returned to his routine of going to and from school daily.
From time to time, Shen Ci would subtly buy various photography equipment that Yan Yuzhou needed for his major, including expensive cameras, film, and tripods. Every time he saw these items, Yan Yuzhou couldn’t help but feel his eyes water.
One weekend, Shen Ci’s actions left Yan Yuzhou completely stunned.
In the living room, Shen Ci’s personal lawyer sat respectfully on the sofa. From a folder, he took out a stack of A4 papers, placing them in front of the curious Yan Yuzhou, who sat across from him, his eyes filled with little bubbles of curiosity.

“Madam, this is Mr. Shen’s complete financial statement. He has personally instructed me to transfer all his assets to you and has arranged for legal notarization. Completely bewildered, Yan Yuzhou’s heart pounded. “Shen Ci… what’s the meaning of this?”
The lawyer smiled and explained, “Simply put, Mr. Shen means that from now on, you manage his money—he earns it, and you spend it.”
After sending off the lawyer, Yan Yuzhou sat dazed, staring at the agreement, which bore both his and Shen Ci’s signatures. His face felt inexplicably hot.
After coming back to his senses, Yan Yuzhou made a call to Shen Ci.
It seemed that Shen Ci was at a business banquet, as there was a chaotic noise in the background. After a moment, the sound became quieter, likely because Shen Ci had moved to a more secluded spot. His low, husky voice came through the line—damnably seductive.
“Miss me, baby?”
Biting his lip, Yan Yuzhou whispered a soft “Mm” and then asked, “When are you coming back?”
Shen Ci clearly enjoyed the fact that Yan Yuzhou was urging him to come home. His voice was slow and teasing.
“Baby, are you so eager for me to come back because you can’t wait to give me a baby?”
Yan Yuzhou: … As expected, a beast is still a beast—no matter how well-dressed, he’s just a refined scoundrel!
“No, stop talking nonsense.” Yan Yuzhou firmly denied it over the phone, but his face secretly flushed red.
However, Shen Ci showed no intention of holding back and only escalated his teasing.
“Come to think of it, it’s been half a month since we stopped using protection. Your belly should be showing signs by now.”
Yan Yuzhou almost choked on his own breath, still trying to steady himself when Shen Ci lazily added,
“Oh, right, I forgot to mention—I like girls. So, baby, put in a bit more effort.”
