    Chapter Index

Driver Xiao Wang parked the car at the temporary parking lot opposite Wenjing Art University, respectfully saying to the person on the right, “Madam, we’ve arrived.”

Yan Yuzhou nodded, thanked Driver Xiao Wang, unfastened the seatbelt, and prepared to get off. Before getting off, he felt it was better to express gratitude to the eccentric alpha to demonstrate an omega’s inherent good manners.

“Thank you for specially bringing me here, Mr. Shen, sorry for the trouble.” Yan Yuzhou tried to make his voice sound sincere and respectful.

Shen Ci focused on his laptop, not even lifting his head, just making a nasal sound “En” in response.

Yan Yuzhou pursed his lips, silently reciting the phrase “Do not get angry, anger harms the body, and no one can replace it” in his head. Then he got out of the car without saying a word and walked towards the university gate without looking back.

Almost instantly, Shen Ci finally lifted his head from the laptop, glanced indifferently out of the car window, and when Yan Yuzhou completely disappeared from sight, he ordered Xiao Wang, who was in front, “Go to the company.”

Shen Ci usually arrives at the company before 9 a.m. However, today the receptionist was surprised to find that Mr. Shen, who is extremely punctual, was late.

Shen Ci walked into the office briskly. His assistant, Liang Xin, was already waiting inside. Upon seeing Shen Ci enter, Liang Xin quickly fetched a glass of water from the water dispenser and then took out a bottle of medicine from the drawer nearby. He unscrewed the bottle cap, took out two pills, walked to the desk, took out a tissue, and respectfully placed the pills on it.

“Mr. Shen, it’s time to take your medicine,” Liang Xin said.

Shen Ci nodded, placed his laptop on the desk, adjusted his suit and tie, and before sitting down, he even took a careful look to see if there was any dust on the seat.

He reached out, put the pills from the tissue into his mouth, picked up the water glass, tilted his head back, took a few sips, and as his throat moved a few times, the pills went down with the water.

Nevertheless, there was still a lingering bitterness of the pills in his mouth, causing Shen Ci to involuntarily furrow his brow.

Liang Xin walked over again, holding a folder in his hands, and began to report today’s arrangements to Shen Ci. Every day was filled with complex tasks, and Shen Ci had long become mechanically accustomed to it. As he listened to each compact item of work being spoken by Liang Xin, there was no extra expression on his face.

It wasn’t until Liang Xin finally said, “At four o’clock this afternoon, we will go to Wenjing Art University with Mr. Han to recruit new members,” that Shen Ci’s eyes showed some emotional fluctuations.

At the end of the report, Liang Xin added, “Mr. Shen, this Friday afternoon is the day you arranged for a follow-up appointment with Dr. Fan.”

Shen Ci nodded slightly, his expression not exactly pleased, still indifferent, devoid of warmth, as if the follow-up appointment had nothing to do with him.

Then, as if suddenly remembering something, he said to Liang Xin who was waiting on the side, “What major is Yan Yuzhou studying at Wenjing Art University?”

Liang Xin seemed to have investigated this question long ago and answered confidently, “Madam was admitted to the photography major.”

Shen Ci raised an eyebrow, indicating that he understood, waved his hand for Liang Xin to leave, and continued to open his notebook, preparing to deal with the tasks at hand.

Yan Yuzhou spent the whole day dealing with new student registrations. It was March, the beginning of the school year, and cities like Wenjing in the south had already started to heat up. After going around in circles, he was parched and exhausted, longing for a cool place to rest.

During the new student registration, the teacher asked him if he wanted to live on campus. Yan Yuzhou hesitated for a moment as he looked at the option of “living on campus” and “not living on campus”.

Although he was already married, the way Shen Ci treated him with such disdain was unforgettable. He didn’t need to think twice; Shen Ci definitely wished for him to move out as soon as possible and stop hovering around him.

Moreover, coming from a humble background himself, Yan Yuzhou couldn’t stand Shen Ci’s pretentious elegance. Eating a meal without making a sound was simply a waste of natural resources and oppressive to human nature.

So, without hesitation, Yan Yuzhou checked the box for “living on campus”.

Students who chose to live on campus could first go to their dormitories with their room numbers to get acquainted with their new roommates. Yan Yuzhou took the key he received from the dormitory manager teacher and entered the dormitory dormitory building designated for omegas.

After finding the corresponding dormitory number, Yan Yuzhou discovered that the door was slightly ajar. He politely knocked on the door and then pushed it open. A faint aroma of fruit wine permeated the air.

A pleasing figure appeared in front of Yan Yuzhou. Soon, the figure turned around. Clad in a red shirt, and blue jeans, with a fashionable bracelet adorning one wrist and a sparkling earring hanging from one ear. He had a bright smile and slender features, and every movement exuded charm.

Even Yan Yuzhou, who always identified as a straight male, couldn’t help but sigh, “This omega is really beautiful.”

“Hi,” the boy smiled at Yan Yuzhou, who felt the scent of fruit wine in the air grow stronger.

“I haven’t had the chance to spray the barrier spray yet. Hope you don’t mind,” the boy stood beside two suitcases, grabbing a corner of the quilt, looking like he was about to put on the quilt cover.

Yan Yuzhou was infected by the boy’s smile, shook his head, glanced around briefly, found no one else, and walked up to help the boy pick up the quilt. Together, they managed to cover the quilt.

After tidying everything up, the boy reached out his hand to Yan Yuzhou. “Hello, I’m Xiao Mu, from the performing arts department.”

Yan Yuzhou smiled and shook hands. “Hello, I’m Yan Yuzhou, majoring in photography.”

Xiao Mu walked to the luggage, took out a spray bottle, sprayed himself a few times, then looked refreshed and said to Yan Yuzhou, “This should lessen the smell, right?”

Yan Yuzhou nodded, indeed, the scent of fruit wine in the air had diminished quite a bit.

“Oh, by the way,” Xiao Mu checked the time and said to Yan Yuzhou, “There’s a recruitment meeting for newcomers at the auditorium at four, hosted by Chiyu Film Industry. How about we go check it out together?”

Yan Yuzhou thought, since he didn’t have anything else to do, it would be good to familiarize himself with the environment of the new university. So, he agreed readily and followed Xiao Mu to the auditorium.

When the two arrived at the auditorium, it was already packed with people. After searching for a while, they found two empty seats in an inconspicuous corner. As they sat down, they were surrounded by a group of excited and chattering people. Xiao Mu leaned over and whispered in Yan Yuzhou’s ear, “I heard that two top executives from Chiyu Film Industry will also be here today. They’re rumored to be good-looking and wealthy, no wonder so many people came. Look at those omegas, they’re so excited they’re practically glowing.”

Yan Yuzhou nodded knowingly, thinking to himself that indeed, good looks and wealth were powerful assets anywhere you go. Just as he was thinking this, the stage lights suddenly brightened, and the host gracefully walked onto the stage, beginning the opening remarks.

Then, the large screen displayed the words “Recruitment of New Talents by Chiyu Film Industry.” Yan Yuzhou looked at the screen, while the host’s slightly excited voice rang in his ears:

“Now, let’s welcome the two senior executives of Chiyu Film Industry: Shen Ci and Han Yundeng.”

Upon hearing that familiar name, Yan Yuzhou quickly fixed his gaze on the stage. There stood Shen Ci, accompanied by another man of similar stature. Both were impeccably dressed in suits, and they walked onto the stage together.

In an instant, Yan Yuzhou’s heart skipped a beat.
