MWMM Chapter 104: Too Easy to Love
by justmistyMost alphas, once they become fathers, turn into total baby-obsessed softies.
But not Shen Ci.
After becoming a father, he was still completely obsessed—with his wife.
In his mind, their child already had the best luck in the world: being loved and cared for by Yan Yuzhou. That was enough. Shen Ci didn’t have the time or energy to worry about the baby. His eyes, his heart—everything—were filled only with his delicate little spouse.
After giving birth, Yan Yuzhou became even more alluring. Maybe it was because he had finally stepped out of the shadows of his depression, let go of his inner knots, and—most importantly—was being pampered endlessly by Shen Ci. Whatever the reason, his confidence had grown.
During his postpartum confinement, he shamelessly paraded around the bedroom in barely-there clothes, completely unrestrained. He could feel Shen Ci’s heated gaze follow his every move.
After all, he was still in recovery. He knew Shen Ci wouldn’t dare touch him. He’d have to settle for watching—nothing more. Forced to restrain himself.
And every time Yan Yuzhou caught that desperate, frustrated look in Shen Ci’s eyes, he had to hold back a laugh so hard it nearly hurt.
Serves him right. After all the months he’d left Yan Yuzhou miserable and hurting, wasn’t a little playful revenge more than fair?
By the time the baby turned one month old—marking the end of Yan Yuzhou’s confinement—celebrations were inevitable.
Even though Shen Ci tried to keep things low-key, as the head of Chiyu Entertainment, he still received a flood of gifts and congratulations on the baby’s full-month celebration.
That evening, Shen Ci and Yan Yuzhou hosted a small, intimate dinner with close friends, shared a quiet celebration, and saw everyone off before returning to their room together.
Throughout the past month, Shen Ci had hired a professional postpartum nanny. During the day, Yan Yuzhou couldn’t bear to be apart from the baby and would care for him personally. At night, however, Shen Ci couldn’t bear to be apart from him, and would scowl darkly while ignoring all protests—handing the baby off to the nanny without hesitation.
Yan Yuzhou understood that Shen Ci was doing it for his sake, so he eventually went along with it. Besides, a full night’s rest gave him the energy he needed to take care of the baby during the day.
But tonight—tonight was different.
After his shower, Yan Yuzhou stepped out to find Shen Ci’s gaze blazing—intense and full of barely restrained heat.
He knew exactly what that look meant.
The anticipation of what was about to happen made his heart race. He was equal parts nervous… and excited.
After all, it had been nearly a year… since anyone had touched him.
That night, the couple spent the entire night together in their soundproofed bedroom. By dawn, Yan Yuzhou’s voice was hoarse from calling out, and he fell asleep during his half-shower, cradled in Shen Ci’s arms.
When he finally awoke in the afternoon, his body was pleasantly exhausted—the afterglow left a soft soreness that made him appreciate how good it felt to be pregnant. He smiled, realizing some things were worth everything.
Stepping into the living room, he found the postpartum nanny quietly soothing the baby. The baby, as if sensing his presence, immediately reached out and started cooing happily when he appeared.
“Your baby is really attached to you, madam,” the nanny remarked as she gently placed the little one into his arms.
Strangely, the baby, who sometimes fussed when held before, now snuggled peacefully. The nanny noticed Yan Yuzhou’s faint scent and smiled knowingly: “He’s smelling his alpha father’s scent on you.”
No wonder the baby was so calm—Shen Ci had barely touched him all month after the premature birth scare. It made sense that the baby recognized Shen Ci’s scent on Yan Yuzhou, feeling safe and content.
Feeling a wave of empathy, Yan Yuzhou whispered softly to the baby, “Daddy loves you very much.”
That night, when Shen Ci tried to… well, get intimate again, he was met with a surprising condition.
“Shen Ci,” Yan Yuzhou said, voice firm, “if you touch me once, you have to hold the baby for an hour.”
Shen Ci raised a brow at the serious, small-face expression. When he realized it wasn’t a joke, he calmed himself and asked softly, “Why the sudden rule?”
Yan Yuzhou fixed his clothes and spoke clearly: “The baby loves you so much, but you don’t seem to like him. You’re his father—don’t you think that’s unfair?”
Shen Ci responded with a kiss along Yan Yuzhou’s body, his voice husky, “He nearly made me lose you.”
Yan Yuzhou pushed him away again, his voice stronger: “So who started all this? Who made me pregnant?”
There was a long silence.
Finally, Shen Ci lowered his head and apologized softly: “It’s my fault.”
“Shen Ci!” Yan Yuzhou’s heart trembled. He was terrified of being rejected entirely—if Shen Ci refused to touch him because of this, all of his carefully nurtured hope would have been in vain.
“Would you rather never touch me again than love our baby?” Yan Yuzhou’s voice trembled as tears threatened to fall.
Shen Ci’s expression darkened. He reached over, turned out the lights, and in the enveloping darkness, his form pressed down upon Yan Yuzhou.
Their bodies sought each other in the blackout. Yan Yuzhou heard Shen Ci breathing beside his ear:
“I’ll compromise. I can love him. But not touching you—never. Not in this life.”
And so, the next day, Shen Ci held their baby for a full five hours straight.
It was the longest their alpha dad had ever held him, and the little one was astonishingly well-behaved—silent as if worried his father might leave him alone. He nestled quietly against Shen Ci’s chest, breathing in his scent.
Yan Yuzhou watched, pride swelling in his chest.
When Shen Ci finally handed the baby back to him, the little one sensed something was different and burst into tears. Yan Yuzhou gently tried to soothe him, but his small frame trembled with sobs and hiccups—each sniffle tugging harder at Yan Yuzhou’s heart.
Then Shen Ci stepped in again, scooping up the baby and tenderly mimicking Yan Yuzhou’s soothing tone.
Seeing Shen Ci so earnest and caring warmed Yan Yuzhou’s heart all over again.
As he held the whimpering child, Shen Ci muttered good-humoredly:
“This little one can wail someone’s ears off—just like his omega father.”
Then he smiled and added:
“He’s just too adorable.”
That night, Shen Ci pulled Yan Yuzhou close. With a sultry tone he asked:
“Baby, I was a good dad today… what’s my reward?”
Yan Yuzhou grinned warmly, voice soft as silk:
“Up to you.”
Shen Ci rewarded him with a deep, satisfied kiss. In the pause he whispered:
“I didn’t expect you to be such a patient, gentle dad. You did a great job.”
Shen Ci paused, studying Yan Yuzhou before replying with a gentle smirk:
“He’s like you—absolutely adorable.”
And then… once more, he moved on top of him like a mountain descending.
Between breaths, Yan Yuzhou managed:
“If you don’t want me pregnant again—use protection.”
Shen Ci answered without hesitation:
“That kind of suffering, I can’t put you through again. One child is enough. I love you—and haven’t nearly enough.”
