MWMM Chapter 50: Alright, Hubby Will Spoil You
by justmistyWatching Shen Ci walk ahead while casually spouting such shameless words, with that air of indifference and unreasonable attitude, Yan Yuzhou ground his molars for quite a while. Reluctantly, he lifted his foot and followed. Before leaving, he even picked up the discarded packaging Su Xintang had angrily thrown to the ground. After all, Su Xintang had mentioned that those things were gifts for Shen Ci. Throwing them away would be such a waste.
When Yan Yuzhou returned to the villa carrying the pile of items, Shen Ci’s expression turned even more unpleasant. With a cold snort, he tossed a card to Yan Yuzhou and slammed his bedroom door shut with a loud bang.
Yan Yuzhou was left standing alone in the middle of the living room, holding the card with a baffled expression.
As a straight man, he really couldn’t comprehend what Shen Ci meant by handing him the card. Was it an acknowledgment of their “sponsorship” arrangement? A reward for cooperating in the earlier act? Or was it simply to show off Shen Ci’s generosity?
“Madam, sir is hinting that he wants you to give him a gift,” Sister Song, who had been silently observing their awkward interactions, finally offered a kind reminder.
“Huh?” Yan Yuzhou blinked and pointed at the pile of items Su Xintang had bought. “Didn’t Su Xintang already buy him so many gifts? Isn’t that enough to last him for a while?”
Sister Song gave him a look of utter disappointment, like she couldn’t believe how clueless he was, and then smiled helplessly. “Miss Su is Miss Su, and you are you. In Sir’s eyes, he’d obviously prefer to receive a gift from you.”
“Is… is that so?” Yan Yuzhou asked hesitantly.
“I guarantee it. If you give Sir a gift, he’ll definitely be happy.” Sister Song thumped her chest confidently, looking every bit like a seasoned expert.
Even if Yan Yuzhou didn’t fully believe her, he felt he had no choice but to give it a shot.
And so, having just returned from the mall, Yan Yuzhou braced himself and asked Driver Xiao Wang to make another trip. He made a point to remember the things Su Xintang had bought and planned to follow her example when choosing gifts.
After scouring several floors, Yan Yuzhou finally selected a few gifts for Shen Ci: a black tie with gold accents, a diamond-studded wristwatch, and a pair of diamond cufflinks.
When it came time to swipe the card, Yan Yuzhou stared at the transaction details, feeling like he’d reached the pinnacle of his life. Even though the money wasn’t his and the gifts wouldn’t belong to him, the sense of accomplishment from completing this high-roller act himself gave him an undeniable feeling of being a tycoon.
He made it home just before dinner. When he arrived, Shen Ci had already finished eating and was sitting in the living room reading a financial magazine. Seeing Yan Yuzhou walk in with several shopping bags in hand, his expression noticeably softened.
Inwardly, Yan Yuzhou gave Sister Song a mental thumbs-up, silently thanking her for her invaluable advice.
With a cheerful grin, he walked over and respectfully presented the bags to Shen Ci with both hands. “Mr. Shen, I don’t have the best taste, so please don’t mind if these aren’t to your liking.”
Shen Ci was momentarily stunned. He glanced at Yan Yuzhou and then at the shopping bags, frowning slightly. “What’s this supposed to mean?”
Seeing Shen Ci’s puzzled expression, Yan Yuzhou felt a bit lost himself and explained honestly, “They’re gifts for you…”
“For me?” A flicker of emotion passed through Shen Ci’s eyes, as if genuinely surprised by Yan Yuzhou’s gesture. But before his mind could fully process it, his hands acted on their own, quickly taking the bags.
He placed them on his lap and began unwrapping the items one by one.
Yan Yuzhou: … Typical tsundere.
Once all the packages were opened, Shen Ci’s expression softened even further, but his confusion seemed to deepen. Setting the gifts aside, he looked up and asked, “What about yours?”
“Huh?” Yan Yuzhou was caught off guard. “What do you mean mine? Oh… I didn’t buy anything for myself.”
“Then what were you doing all afternoon?” Shen Ci’s gaze turned sharp, as if scrutinizing an idiot. “You brought back Su Xintang’s things, stood there ogling them, and after I gave you the card, you didn’t think to buy something for yourself?”
“I… bought gifts for you,” Yan Yuzhou blinked, answering truthfully. “I didn’t want anything of Miss Su’s. I just saw she bought them for you, and it felt wasteful to leave them behind, so I brought them back.”
He genuinely hadn’t thought about buying anything for himself. As for the card Shen Ci had given him, he didn’t even consider it something he could use. If it hadn’t been for Sister Song’s reminder, he would’ve probably returned it right away.
“So, you spent the entire afternoon picking out gifts for me?” Shen Ci’s gaze deepened, as if carrying a wave of restrained excitement.
Yan Yuzhou scratched his head, clueless about what was going on, and nodded. “Yeah.”
The moment his words fell, he suddenly felt a strong force pull him forward. Before he could react, he found himself wrapped in a warm embrace, carrying the faint scent of pine.
“Were you jealous?” Shen Ci chuckled beside his ear. Though usually cold and aloof, his voice at this moment was filled with an unfamiliar warmth.
Yan Yuzhou was utterly bewildered by the hug, and even more so by Shen Ci’s question. Jealous? Jealous of what?
Only after a moment did he piece it together. The gifts he bought for Shen Ci were modeled after the ones Su Xintang had chosen—just in different styles. Did Shen Ci think he, Yan Yuzhou, was so petty as to feel jealous of Su Xintang and buy replacement gifts to “compete”?
Did he look like such a petty and boring person???
Completely speechless, Yan Yuzhou hadn’t even opened his mouth before Shen Ci’s low laughter rang out again in his ear. “But you didn’t have to leave yourself out. I gave you the card so you could use it freely. As my Omega, you’ll never suffer financial grievances.”
What the hell—this was so overbearingly dramatic, yet so incredibly embarrassing! It was like stepping straight into a classic scene from some over-the-top CEO romance novel.
What kind of cosmic joke had landed him in this kind of role?
“M-Mr. Shen,” Yan Yuzhou stammered, trying to maintain some respect while expressing his thanks. “Thank you for your generosity, but I really don’t need the card. Why don’t you just take it back?”
After all, there’s an age-old truth: when you take from others, you lose your independence.
Who would have thought that when Shen Ci heard this, he chuckled again? Looking into Yan Yuzhou’s sincere little eyes, he couldn’t help but reach out and tap the tip of Yan Yuzhou’s nose, his tone dripping with unprecedented affection.
“If you won’t accept the card, does that mean my little Zhouzhou is hinting that I should personally give you a gift instead?”
Yan Yuzhou was completely stunned.
He swore on his straight-man orientation that there was absolutely no such meaning behind his words.
They were straight men—straight in every sense of the word. Twisty, indirect little thoughts? Not a chance.
However, to Shen Ci, Yan Yuzhou’s silence at this moment seemed like a shy admission that confirmed his guess. This made Shen Ci’s expression even softer.
Unable to resist, he leaned down and planted a firm kiss on Yan Yuzhou’s lips. There wasn’t the slightest trace of coldness in his brows now, and his tone had softened to the extreme.
“Alright, hubby will spoil you.”
With just one sentence, Yan Yuzhou’s face instantly turned beet red, like a ripe cherry begging to be picked and tasted.
Before he realized it, Mr. Shen had stamped his claim and spoiled him thoroughly.
It was so absurdly thrilling, fantastical, and utterly unbelievable.
________
The next day, after Shen Ci left for work, Yan Yuzhou stayed home to ride out the last day of his heat cycle.
Last night, during the peak of his fever, Shen Ci had bitten him fiercely in their shared bed. Afterward, the utterly exhausted Omega fell into a deep sleep, while Shen Ci, thoroughly satisfied, held him in his arms all night.
Feeling refreshed, Shen Ci left for work in the morning, while Yan Yuzhou caught up on sleep alone in Shen Ci’s room.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Sister Song went to answer it, and a moment later, Yan Yuzhou heard her knocking on his door.
Yawning and still half-asleep, Yan Yuzhou got out of bed and opened the door, only to see a round-faced girl standing in the living room, her expression one of utter disbelief.
Su Xintang stood there, trembling as she asked, “You… slept in Brother Shen Ci’s room?”
