Chapter Index

Yan Yuzhou saw the rather embarrassing title and, blushing, clicked on it.

The ID of the person who posted it was unexpectedly: Chi Yu Film Industry’s Senior President, Shen Ci.

Yan Yuzhou quickly scrolled down. Just like the previous post that had slandered him, this one also used a combination of images and text. However, the content was entirely different—this time, it was overflowing with love and affection. Even as the person involved, Yan Yuzhou could practically smell the overwhelming scent of romance from the post.

“My favorite thing every day is holding my soft, fragrant baby in my arms as we fall asleep together.”

“My wife actually used this little trick to ask me for kisses—pretending not to understand a problem so I’d explain it to him, and for each explanation, he’d give me a kiss. Wife, I really wish you’d turn into an academic failure.”

“Wife refuses to take my card, so I have no choice but to personally buy everything he likes and bring it home. Wife, your husband spoils you, mwah~”

“Wife’s gland got accidentally injured, and he lay on my lap crying ‘wuwuwu.’ My heart ached so much I wished I could take the pain for him.”

“A pair of wedding rings, a lifetime of love, just the two of us forever.”

The post listed countless details of their daily lives, even including some moments that Yan Yuzhou himself had long forgotten.

By the time he finished reading, his eyes were slightly misty.

So this is what their days together had been like? So sweet?

Shen Ci really did pamper him beyond all reason.

So this… is what being loved feels like?

His heart trembled at the realization.

Wiping away the tears forming in his eyes with the back of his hand, he exited the post—only to hear a sudden notification for a new text message. Without thinking, he clicked on it.

It was a bank deposit alert.

And the amount credited to his account—five million.

Yan Yuzhou instantly clapped a hand over his mouth to stop himself from screaming.

He shot up from his seat and quickly walked out of the classroom. Finding a quiet corner, he dialed Shen Ci’s number.

His heart was pounding wildly, as if something was gripping his throat.

The call connected, and Shen Ci’s deep, sultry voice came through.

    “Mm? Zhouzhou?”

Yan Yuzhou’s face burned as he responded, then finally voiced the question in his heart.

“Mr. Shen, was that five million from you? I… I don’t need that much money…”

Shen Ci chuckled softly, his tone full of indulgence. “Zhouzhou, what’s wrong? Why is your memory so bad? That five million wasn’t a gift from me—it was yours to begin with. Yan Yuhe had taken possession of your rightful assets. I merely helped you reclaim what was already yours.”

As Yan Yuzhou listened, his eyes widened, and he sucked in a sharp breath, completely overwhelmed by disbelief. His entire voice trembled, filled with the joy and shock of someone afraid they were dreaming.

“R-Really? I was actually this rich before? Ah, no, I mean—so that five million is now officially mine?”

Hearing his little money-grubber’s reaction, Shen Ci’s heart softened. “Yes, it all belongs to our Zhouzhou.”

Yan Yuzhou felt like he had reached the pinnacle of life. A massive bank balance—he didn’t even know how to spend it. In his original world, he had never seen so much money in his entire life.

Thank you, Lin Xiaoguo, for giving me this experience of being a rich man.

He giggled a few times, his eyes curving into happy crescents, his voice sweet as honey. “Oh, right, Mr. Shen, I saw the post. I just wanted to say—thank you.”

For once, Shen Ci fell into an unusual silence, as if dissatisfied with Yan Yuzhou’s reaction. His voice took on a coaxing tone. “Zhouzhou, I don’t want to hear the words ‘thank you.’ Change it to something else.”

    Not ‘thank you’? Then…

You’ve worked hard! Yan Yuzhou chirped sweetly.

A longer silence followed from the other end of the call.

Just as Yan Yuzhou was wondering what was going on, Shen Ci finally spoke again—through gritted teeth.

“Not hard at all. Just let me bite you a few more times to make up for it.”

Then—clack! He hung up the phone.

Leaving Yan Yuzhou standing there, completely dumbfounded, staring blankly at his phone.

After a while, he lowered his head and double-checked the transferred amount. Seeing the long string of zeroes after the 5, he clapped a hand over his mouth and giggled uncontrollably.

Yes! From now on, he had officially stepped onto the peak of life.

Feeling euphoric, he happily walked back into the classroom.

To his surprise, the moment he entered, his classmates all turned to wave and greet him enthusiastically.

Caught off guard, Yan Yuzhou stood frozen for a second, utterly flustered and overwhelmed by this sudden warmth.

Yan Yuzhou had just sat back down when he felt a light tap on his shoulder. Looking up, he was met with a bright, innocent doll-like face.

“Roommate, I’ll be sitting next to you from now on, okay?” Wen Er asked cheerfully.

Yan Yuzhou nodded with a smile, still happily planning how to spend his five million.

“Oh, right, classmate Yan, I just found out—you’re already married!” Wen Er grinned at him.

Yan Yuzhou nodded again in acknowledgment, the corners of his lips curling up slightly.

Wen Er seemed affected by his smile, his eyes flashing briefly before his own grin grew even sweeter.

The next class was college mathematics, and the professor had assigned homework in the previous session. Yan Yuzhou took out his notebook, waiting for the class representative to collect the assignments.

Pan Feng, the math class representative, stood up from the front row and began collecting the homework, passing it along one student at a time.

When he reached Yan Yuzhou’s row, Yan Yuzhou handed over his workbook and, at the same time, returned the math notes he had previously borrowed from Pan Feng. “Thanks,” he said politely.

Pan Feng gave a slight nod and a small smile before reaching Wen Er.

Wen Er had been prepared in advance, carefully holding out his workbook with both hands, his eyes shining.

Pan Feng’s body tensed for a moment. Seeing Wen Er leaning forward slightly as he handed over his homework, Pan Feng instinctively took a step back. Then, with an extremely cold expression, he grabbed Wen Er’s workbook with an almost mechanical motion and walked off without a word, continuing to collect homework from the rest of the class.

Yan Yuzhou noticed Wen Er’s face suddenly turn pale. The sparkle in his eyes vanished, leaving them dull and lifeless. His lips were slightly bitten, his whole expression weary and bloodless.

“Classmate Wen, are you… not feeling well?” Yan Yuzhou asked with concern.

Wen Er shook his head. His eyes were misty, but he refused to let the tears fall. His entire demeanor radiated quiet sorrow, making him look even more pitiful—like someone who had just been deeply wronged.

Yet, he didn’t say a single word.

Yan Yuzhou glanced at Wen Er with concern, then shifted his gaze to Pan Feng, who was still collecting assignments. It felt like… something was definitely going on between these two.

“Classmate Yan, I really envy you. You have Mr. Shen to dote on you, but I…” Wen Er suddenly began sobbing softly beside him.

Yan Yuzhou panicked at the sight of Wen Er crying and quickly pulled out a tissue, helping him wipe away his tears. Thinking back to Pan Feng’s cold attitude earlier, he tentatively asked, “You and Pan Feng… you two…”

The moment Wen Er heard Pan Feng’s name, his crying escalated. Tears gushed down like a waterfall, leaving Yan Yuzhou completely stunned. He hurriedly grabbed three more tissues, fearing that even these wouldn’t be enough to stop the flood.

Why are the Omegas in this world all such crybabies…?

He seemed to have completely forgotten how he himself had once sobbed like a delicate flower in Shen Ci’s arms.

Pan Feng, having finished collecting the assignments, was now walking back down the aisle. As he passed by their row, Yan Yuzhou kept darting meaningful glances at him. His eyes practically screamed: “Look! You made him cry—shouldn’t you do something about it?”

Pan Feng gave Wen Er—who was curled up and shaking with sobs—a brief, indifferent glance. Then, after placing the stack of homework on his desk, he turned back and spoke to the crying person.

    “Come outside for a moment.”

Without waiting for a response, he walked out of the classroom first.

Wen Er slowly lifted his tear-streaked face, wiped his eyes, and, with his head lowered and eyes still red, silently followed him out.

Half the class had passed before the two finally returned, one after the other.

Yan Yuzhou shot Wen Er a look filled with concern (gossip).

But Wen Er silently packed up his bag, then turned to Yan Yuzhou and simply said, “Goodbye.” Without another word, he walked out of the classroom again.

    Eh?

Forget it. After all, it is said that people nursing a broken heart need time alone to clear their minds.
