MWMM Chapter 97: You’re Pregnant?
by justmistyThat evening, when Yan Yuzhou walked out of the school and got into the car, his attitude toward Shen Ci was still as indifferent as it had been that morning, barely acknowledging his presence.
Shen Ci’s gaze, however, was intense—completely unlike the cold detachment he showed earlier. Even though Yan Yuzhou kept his eyes fixed on the window, he could still feel the weight of Shen Ci’s stare.
With a faint smile, Yan Yuzhou finally turned his head and asked, “Mr. Shen, have you remembered everything?”
Of course, when he asked this, Yan Yuzhou already knew that Shen Ci hadn’t. If he had, there was no way he’d still be looking at him with this tentative, uncertain expression.
Shen Ci’s face showed a brief flicker of confusion before he looked away, masking the curiosity and doubt in his eyes. He replied blandly, “No.”
Yan Yuzhou gave a soft laugh, his expression seemingly nonchalant. He glanced at the man with the complicated expression, toyed with the strap of his backpack, and didn’t initiate any further conversation.
The car sank into silence for who knows how long, until Shen Ci suddenly asked, “What kind of relationship did we have… before?”
Yan Yuzhou’s fingers paused on the strap, then he chuckled as if the question didn’t bother him at all. “Which aspect does Mr. Shen want to know about? Emotional… or physical?”
Shen Ci’s lips parted slightly, his eyes flickering uncomfortably, but he didn’t respond.
Yan Yuzhou smiled mischievously, completely ignoring the warning in Shen Ci’s eyes, and leaned in close to whisper by his ear, “Emotionally, you were madly in love with me—so much that you’d have died for me. As for the physical…”
He paused deliberately, then gently blew a breath near Shen Ci’s ear, his voice slow and unhurried, “Just yesterday, you were still begging me in bed, asking me to give you a child.”
With that, he pulled back, his face once again wearing a calm, refined smile, as if the seductive moment just now had never happened. He looked composed and reserved—only the whitened knuckles gripping his backpack strap betrayed the force he was using.
Just how much did he have to restrain himself, to stop from grabbing Shen Ci by the collar and demanding answers?
Start something then leave it behind—sleep with him, then forget. Put your pants back on and act like it never happened.
Back at the villa, the two of them ate dinner in tacit silence. Even Sister Song found it odd—something was off about the mister and missus tonight.
Mr. Shen kept eyeing Mrs. Yan with a probing gaze, while Mrs. Yan seemed completely unbothered, unwilling to engage at all. The two of them had always been passionately in love, yet now they were acting out some scene from Pride and Prejudice. Could it be that she was just getting too old to understand the ways of young people?
After dinner, Yan Yuzhou headed straight into the bathroom and didn’t come out for a long time. Shen Ci kept glancing at the bathroom door. Through the blurred glass, vague outlines of a body could be seen, stirring the memory of that small, naked figure that had curled up in his arms when he woke up that morning.
A nameless heat surged through his body. Shen Ci’s eyes turned cold as he forced himself to suppress it. All day, he had only been aware that his omega-repulsion had been cured. But now, he realized that it wasn’t just cured—he had developed something new toward omegas: desire.
Inside the bathroom, Yan Yuzhou leaned against the wall, lingering there for a long time. Only when he saw the two lines on the pregnancy test stick he had bought from the campus clinic earlier did he bite his lip hard, his eyes instantly reddening.
He tossed the stick into the bathroom trash without a second thought, walked to the sink, and splashed water onto his face several times. Staring at his reflection, he let out a bitter laugh. He quickly composed himself, wrapped a towel around his waist with a calm smile, and opened the door.
“Mr. Shen, I’m done with the bathroom,” Yan Yuzhou said, taking off the towel and drying his smooth skin with it—utterly unbothered whether Shen Ci was nearby, as if this was all completely natural.
Only after hearing the bathroom door close behind Shen Ci did Yan Yuzhou’s faint smile stiffen. One hand came to rest over his lower abdomen, and the other clenched the towel tighter.
Suddenly, the bathroom door was flung open from the inside without warning. Yan Yuzhou was startled and turned his head, only to see Shen Ci striding toward him with a serious expression. In just a few steps, he stood in front of him—holding up the pregnancy test stick Yan Yuzhou had tossed earlier, which he hadn’t noticed being retrieved.
“You’re pregnant?” Shen Ci knew what the two lines meant.
Yan Yuzhou tilted his small face up and offered a frivolous smile. “That’s right. I’m pregnant.”
Then, he casually tossed the towel aside and pressed his bare body up against Shen Ci’s, joking with feigned indifference, “Surely Mr. Shen isn’t suspecting that the child in my belly… isn’t yours?”
The moment those words left his lips, Shen Ci’s expression darkened noticeably.
“You dare cheat on me?”
A dangerous aura emanated from him. Even though the Dominant Alpha’s pheromones were warm, Yan Yuzhou couldn’t help but shiver.
Even so, he mustered his courage, wrapped his arms around Shen Ci’s neck, and raised an eyebrow with a grin. “Of course I wouldn’t dare.”
He extended a single finger and lightly tapped Shen Ci’s chest, his gesture full of implication, though his gaze remained innocent and pure. “It’s just that Mr. Shen denied our relationship only this morning. I wouldn’t dare claim this child has anything to do with you.”
With that, he withdrew from Shen Ci’s arms, took two steps back, and picked up a silk nightgown as thin as cicada wings, draping it over himself. The neckline exposed a delicate collarbone, and he stood there with a composed smile. “Mr. Shen, you decide—where should I sleep tonight? I’ll follow your orders. If you dislike me, I’ll move to another room.”
As he spoke, his hand brushed casually yet deliberately over his lower abdomen, though his expression remained docile, the perfect image of obedience and deference.
This kind of veiled submission—appearing meek while actually making it hard for the other party to refuse—was something Shen Ci was utterly powerless against.
Shen Ci, still holding the pregnancy test stick, let his gaze fall to Yan Yuzhou’s belly, eyes dark and unreadable. Then he uttered two words:
“Stay here.”
With that, he turned around and walked into the bathroom without another word. Moments later, the sound of running water echoed from within.
Yan Yuzhou gently cradled his abdomen with one hand, feeling a sudden wave of relief wash over him. His body slumped against the bed in exhaustion. Just now, had Shen Ci really chosen to sleep separately from him, he might truly have been heartbroken enough to go to the hospital and abort the child.
What had kept him smiling through all this in front of Shen Ci… was nothing more than the lingering image of how Shen Ci used to love him to the bone, how he used to spoil him like he was his entire world.
The next day, Shen Ci brought Yan Yuzhou to Anshi Hospital for a prenatal checkup.
After a full round of tests, the hospital confirmed: early pregnancy, less than a month along.
While Shen Ci stepped out to get some prenatal medication, he overheard Yan Yuzhou’s voice from inside the consultation room.
“Doctor, when can we schedule a DNA test? I’d like to know who the father of the child is.”
His tone was soft and gentle, but every word pierced straight through Shen Ci’s heart like a knife.
“I’m sorry, Doctor,” Yan Yuzhou added. “It’s just that I’ve slept with too many alphas—I really can’t say whose child it is.”
Shen Ci pushed the door open without hesitation. Without so much as a glance at the doctor, he strode over, grabbed Yan Yuzhou’s wrist, and dragged him out.
His pace was large and forceful, the grip on Yan Yuzhou’s wrist tight and unyielding. Everything about him screamed rage. Yan Yuzhou followed silently, secretly wondering—if Shen Ci was this angry, did it mean he actually cared about their relationship?
Finally, they reached a secluded corner. Shen Ci released him abruptly, not even giving him a moment to catch his breath before everything spun—and Yan Yuzhou found himself pinned against the wall.
