MWMM Chapter 99: Call Mr. Shen for a Kiss
by justmistyShen Ci was completely and utterly defeated by this little delicate spouse of his.
He couldn’t scold him, couldn’t hit him, and when he gave him pheromones, the omega ended up in pain. But if he didn’t give them, he’d start crying again.
Shen Ci stood outside Yan Yuzhou’s room, caught in a moment of total disarray, not knowing what to do with himself.
Hearing that the crying inside had suddenly stopped, Shen Ci had originally thought of just walking away, letting that unreasonable little thing cool off alone. But a soft, reluctant feeling tugged at his heart, urging him to stay—telling him to be patient, to endure the bad temper of a pregnant omega.
So, he reached out, twisted the doorknob, and walked in.
The room was dark. Under the faint glow of the streetlight outside, Shen Ci glanced around until he spotted the little crybaby curled up tightly in the corner of the room. The moment the sound of the door opening reached him, the head buried in his knees snapped up.
Shen Ci walked to the bedside and switched on a soft desk lamp. The gentle light spilled over Yan Yuzhou’s tear-streaked face, and Shen Ci suddenly felt like he’d done something unforgivable—bullied him to the point of collapse.
“Don’t… don’t cry anymore,” Shen Ci sighed, stepping toward the tiny figure huddled in the corner. He reached out a hand to gently soothe the poor little thing who was hiccuping from crying so much.
But just as his hand brushed against the omega, Yan Yuzhou dodged with a sharp motion, shot him a puffed-cheek glare full of indignation, and turned his whole body away with a huff, sniffling all over again.
Shen Ci: …Now he was starting to understand why the past version of himself had doted on this omega so much. This little mix of mock-ferocity and pitiful vulnerability—every move landed squarely on the softest part of his heart, making it itch unbearably.
Forget it. He surrendered.
With a resigned sigh, Shen Ci released a small amount of his pheromones and sat silently beside him.
Yan Yuzhou, still sniffling, slowly stopped crying. He turned his face toward Shen Ci, eyes full of righteous grievance, and shot him a dramatic eye-roll. But his body—betraying his words—shifted ever so slightly closer to Shen Ci.
Shen Ci caught the subtle motion and was satisfied. He didn’t expose him, just stayed there quietly, until he sensed he’d given enough. Any more, and the omega would likely start feeling pain in his abdomen again. So he gradually retracted his pheromones.
Then he stepped forward, leaned down slightly, and—ignoring the weak protests—scooped the tear-streaked little crybaby into his arms and carried him back to bed.
Only after he had soothed Yan Yuzhou to sleep did Shen Ci suddenly realize how naturally all of it had come to him. Every movement, every action—none of it felt like something a so-called emotionally-detached alpha would do.
It all felt natural. Instinctive.
Maybe… just maybe, he really had loved this omega once.
Ever since Yan Yuzhou began receiving Shen Ci’s pheromones, his belly had grown visibly larger by the day. And with that, came every omega’s inevitable rite of passage during pregnancy: morning sickness.
No matter how creatively Sister Song tried to prepare meals, Yan Yuzhou’s appetite only got worse. Even when he forced himself to eat, he’d soon find himself throwing it up, unable to bear it.
As his belly expanded, his frame grew thinner. Worried, Shen Ci even consulted the doctor on how to coax an omega to eat during pregnancy. The answer was simple—feed him personally.
From that day on, three meals a day turned into feeding sessions. Yan Yuzhou would sit on the bed, eyes bright, mouth wide open like a baby bird waiting to be fed.
“Ahh…” he’d say, opening his mouth dramatically and playfully, waiting for the spoon.
Bite by bite, before anyone realized, an entire bowl of porridge would be gone.
“More,” the lazy little thing on the bed chirped, unusually ravenous for once, demanding a second bowl.
Shen Ci raised an eyebrow, pleased, and scooped up another full serving. Yan Yuzhou remained seated on the bed, looking perfectly content, mouth open, waiting for the next spoonful of porridge to come to him.
And just as Shen Ci bent his head to scoop the next spoonful, a sly smile crept into the corner of Yan Yuzhou’s eyes.
Unknowingly, two or three months passed like this, and thanks to Shen Ci’s attentive care, Yan Yuzhou’s complexion had visibly improved. Every day, he happily followed Shen Ci around the house, asking to be hugged, fed, or coaxed.
In this house, whoever was pregnant was the boss.
He even went as far as making a bold request: he wanted a kiss from Mr. Shen.
The moment he said it, Shen Ci’s previously calm and composed face darkened like storm clouds gathering on the horizon.
Yan Yuzhou swallowed nervously, feeling a little guilty. He knew he’d been acting a bit spoiled lately—riding the wave of “status through pregnancy.” Shen Ci, a billionaire CEO, had been waiting on him hand and foot despite his modest background—not even worth a fraction of Shen Ci’s net worth. That, in itself, was already incredible.
Now, to ask for a kiss… it felt like pushing the boundaries of what Shen Ci could tolerate. But then, a memory popped into his head—back when he used to refuse Shen Ci’s kisses, Shen Ci had once pressured him under the righteous banner of “advancing medical research.”
Thinking of that gave him new confidence. He straightened up and met Shen Ci’s furrowed brows head-on, fully emboldened.
And then, he began to talk complete nonsense.
“A marriage lacking genuine affection will lead to the baby developing a sense of insecurity while still in the womb, possibly resulting in personality disorders like childhood autism. This would mean the baby loses at the starting line of life—lose one step, lose every step. Overall, it’s absolutely detrimental to the baby’s long-term development.
“The baby didn’t choose to come into this world. He didn’t get to choose who his parents are, or what kind of relationship they have. Isn’t that unfair to him?
“If we’re truly loving—at the very least, if we act loving enough—then the baby will be able to feel it. Only then will he be willing, joyful, and free of reservations to come into this world. Only then will he have a happy childhood.
“Therefore, for the sake of the baby’s health, though I’m personally reluctant, I strongly believe we must make this kind of sacrifice.”
After delivering this impassioned speech, Yan Yuzhou glanced at Shen Ci’s still-expressionless face and, unwilling to give up, added:
“Mr. Shen, how about we go big—let’s start with a nice long French kiss?”
Shen Ci now realized he’d seriously misjudged this omega. At first, he thought he was the type that made people want to dote on him. But now… he was starting to believe that back then, when they slept together, it was probably because Yan Yuzhou shamelessly threw himself at him.
Of course, a highly self-disciplined CEO like Mr. Shen couldn’t possibly imagine another, more plausible explanation—that he had been the one who had shamelessly clung to this omega, insisting on marking him, bedding him, and refusing to let go.
This omega’s shamelessness knew no bounds. He had actually suggested a French kiss with a straight face.
And Shen Ci—who found even the slightest trace of omega pheromones difficult to endure, let alone actual lip-to-lip contact—instantly furrowed his brow and flatly rejected, “Impossible.”
“Oh?” Yan Yuzhou, momentarily stung by the refusal, quickly turned his eyes with a mischievous glint. “But Mr. Shen, you used to be so obsessed with me that you’d pin me down every single day to do all sorts of things. You liked to press me against the wall, or throw me on the bed, or in the bathtub—mmph!”
This time, Shen Ci cut him off cleanly—by kissing him.
Quick, sharp, and deliberate, sealing off whatever wild, probably indecent words were about to spill from Yan Yuzhou’s mouth.
The corners of Yan Yuzhou’s lips twitched upward ever so slightly, his eyes narrowing with satisfaction.
So what if he lost his memory? This young master can still make you fall for me all over again.
